There’s a new “ChatGPT killer” every week. A new AI agent framework. A new feature that “changes everything.” I work in IT, and I still find it hard to stick to one thing that works — because the goalposts keep moving.
If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone. And if you’re not in tech, you’re probably feeling it even more.
A few years ago, generative AI went mainstream. Chat-based tools. Then agents: AI systems built to handle a specific function. Then multi-agent setups that coordinate several agents. Then the next model, the next platform, the next “you need this” post on your feed.
As an IT professional, I feel the pull: I need to stick to what I know works. At the same time, it’s obvious that something new is possible now — and I’m probably missing out. I haven’t fully explored the free tier of one tool, and already there’s a paid upgrade, a new competitor, or a new way of doing the same job. The result? Frustration. A sense of being inert. Too much noise to know where to start.
If I feel that way, I can only imagine how it is for everyone else.
Entrepreneurs. Business owners. Students. People who aren’t in the tech space every day. They’re excited about AI — and at the same time they’re overwhelmed. Stuck. Frozen. Not because they’re slow, but because there’s so much going on. There’s always a new way of doing things. And often, you’re told you have to pay to access the “real” features before you’ve even understood what the free version can do.
Then there’s the social pressure. Your competitor is on that platform. Everyone in your network seems to be doing their content with AI. You’re supposed to be there too — but you don’t know where “there” is anymore.
That mix of excitement and anxiety, of FOMO and fatigue, is real. And it’s not a sign that you’re behind. It’s a sign that the pace of change is relentless — for everyone.
Here’s what I’ve come to believe: getting value from AI — and from digital transformation in general — isn’t something one person is meant to figure out alone.
For a business or an organisation that wants to bring AI into the picture, it takes more than one role. It takes leadership that can say what “good” looks like. It takes operations that know where the pain is. It takes technical capacity to implement and maintain. And very often, it takes an external partner who’s seen the same journey before and can help you avoid the traps.
The goal isn’t to have one hero who learns every tool. The goal is to have the right people in the room — and the right partners at the table — so you can unlock value and stop the bleeding: wasted time, wasted resources, missed opportunities.
Whether you’re an average user trying to get more out of your day or a seasoned developer with years under your belt, you’re not meant to walk this journey alone. That’s not a weakness. It’s how complex change actually works.
Digital transformation didn’t start with ChatGPT. For years, businesses have been building websites, moving to the cloud, and trying to get their data and processes in order. Now AI has shaken the table again. A lot of organisations are mid-journey — and wondering how to integrate AI without throwing out what already works.
At Chief Web Services, we enable Kenyan entrepreneurs and businesses to bring the value they create into the digital world — and keep it there. In practice, that means two things.
Stable foundations first. A website that loads. A digital presence that’s reliable and up to date. Processes that don’t depend on one person or one forgotten password. We’ve built our offer around that: fixed scope, fixed price, clear timelines (like our 14-day website launch), and ongoing Management Plans so that once you’re live, you stay live. You don’t have to become an IT department to keep things running.
Practical AI when you’re ready. We’re not in the business of selling buzzwords. We’re in the business of helping you use AI where it actually takes work off your plate — without forcing you onto the FOMO treadmill. For those ready to go further, we have a path (our Tier 3 AI Transformation work) for businesses that want to explore automation, integrations, and AI in a structured way. One partner, so you’re not juggling five vendors while the world moves at AI speed.
In 2026 we’re doubling down on this: clarity over chaos, foundations first, then the next step — whether that’s a faster website, a Management Plan that keeps things healthy, or a deliberate move into AI where it makes sense for your business.
If this resonated — whether you’re in IT, running a business, or just trying to make sense of the AI noise — I’d like to hear from you.
What’s one thing that’s made you feel stuck or overwhelmed with AI? And what’s one thing that’s helped you get unstuck? Let’s turn this into a conversation.
I’m happy to swap ideas — no pitch, just a real conversation about where you are and where you’re trying to go. You can find me on LinkedIn.
